What: Upper Chattahoochee Riverkeeper’s 16th Annual Patron Appreciation Dinner
When: Friday, September 24, from 6:30 – 10:00 pm
Where: the Georgia Aquarium
This dinner is a celebration of our river and our special honorees, as well as the 16 years of dedicated service that UCR has provided for millions of people and wildlife who depend on the Chattahoochee. The evening will begin with a reception followed by a seated dinner and program where UCR will honor Ray Anderson and Interface, Inc., with its prestigious River Guardian Award for Ray’s advanced and progressive stance on industrial ecology and sustainability, a visionary model in the Chattahoochee watershed. UCR will also honor Georgia Tech with its first River Sustainability Award for the school’s significant investment in, and leadership on behalf of, water and energy efficiency as exemplified by campus sustainability programs. Reps. Debbie Buckner and Doug McKillip will be honored for their extraordinary efforts to protect Georgia’s waterways during the 2010 legislative session. Guests will also be able to bid on a tempting array of auction items, all for the cause of protecting the Chattahoochee River.
