EARTHSHARE OF GEORGIA CARRIES ON THE EARTH DAY TRADITION
ATLANTA— (April 29, 2010) For the fortieth anniversary of the first Earth Day in 1970, EarthShare of Georgia organized three key events in 2010 to promote environmental stewardship to leaders from the business world and the community at large. The EarthShare of Georgia Earth Day 2010 events were presented by Kaiser Permanente and fifty incredible sponsors.
Earth Day Corporate Green Day Challenge, presented by Kaiser Permanente on Saturday, April 17, 2010, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., allowed employers in both the public and private sector to show their true color (green) by matching employee teams to community environmental projects. More than 1000 volunteers from 24 companies participated in the 2010 Corporate Green Day Challenge at 20 locations throughout Atlanta and beyond! These corporate volunteers exchanged their suits for work boots and garden gloves, to clean up parks, pull privet and clean streams. Congratulations to our winning Green Day teams, Bank of America and Tomorrow Pictures.
