EARTHSHARE OF GEORGIA ANNOUNCES NEW BOARD MEMBERS

ATLANTA— (August 31, 2010) EarthShare of Georgia (ESGA) announced today four new members will join its Board of Directors for the 2010-2012 term. EarthShare of Georgia welcomes:

Nathan Ballard, Application Development Manager, Assistance Vice President of Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta. A graduate of the University of Georgia, he has been with the Federal Home Loan Bank for nearly 7 years in the Information Technology department. Mr. Ballard is very involved in FHLB’s community involvement outreach and chairperson of the volunteer committee.

Ira Blumenthal, President of ESGA member group, Captain Planet Foundation, an organization that focuses on educating and inspiring children to become great stewards of the planet and live eco-friendly lives. A successful business man and entrepreneur, Blumenthal was a marketing executive for the Sara Lee Corporation then later the founder and president of CO-OPPORTUNITIES, Inc., an Atlanta based consulting company that has counseled Coca-Cola as a lead consultant for nearly 20 years, before he joined the Captain Planet Foundation in 2008.

Jerry McCollum
, President and CEO of ESGA member group, Georgia Wildlife Federation has been involved with EarthShare of Georgia for many years, and is an active conservationist of Georgia’s wildlife and natural resources.

Rebecca Serna Woiderski, Executive Director of ESGA member group, Atlanta Bicycle Coalition. Drawing on her experience as a Fulbright scholar in Bogotá, Colombia, where she studied participatory planning practices and innovative public transportation projects, Rebecca is passionate about improving the livability of metro Atlanta through bicycling. She holds a Master’s degree from Georgia State in Urban Policy Studies and co-founded Citizens for Progressive Transit in 2004.
