Earth Day
Leadership Breakfast
Thursday, April 22, 2004
This past Earth Day more than 60 of Atlanta's top business leaders
and environmental stewards gathered at the Carter Center to hear
featured speaker, Jean-Michel Cousteau, marine conservationist
and son of legendary oceanographer and filmmaker Jacques Cousteau.
Hosted by William Bruner, Coca-Cola North America and Jeff Haidet,
McKenna Long & Aldridge, the breakfast also encouraged businesses
to take the EARTH-smart business challenge and do one thing to
change/improve their impact on the environment in 2004.
Establish or elect
an "environmental ambassador" for your company.
Assess your company's
environmental practices, such as current use of resources
like water and energy.
Reduce and/or improve
your company's impact on the environment by adopting at
least one new environmental business practice this year.
Take the time to
annually review and improve your company's environmental
practices and their impact on the environment and your business.
Help leading environmental
organizations with your time and resources through Earth
Share of Georgia.

Here on this uninhabited island, trash from more than 100
countries washes up on the beaches, brought here via our waterways
and thanks to insufficient infrastructures worldwide. |
