Earth Day 2007: Party in the Park On Saturday, April
21, 2007, from 7:00-10:00 p.m. at Atlantic Station's Central
Park will again be the backdrop for the 11th annual Party in the
Park. Hailed as a model for smart growth and sustainability for the
whole country, Atlantic Station is the largest brownfield
redevelopment in America. In all, 11 acres of greenspace were added
and 2,000 trees are being planted-beautifying our city while also
reducing the urban heat island effect.
Party in the Park is
Atlanta\'s largest Earth Day event, bringing together a diverse
group of grassroots environmentalists, devoted philanthropists, and
business professionals whose collective goal is to integrate
sustainable practices and policies wherever we work, live or play.
Enjoy live music, food by Whole Foods Market, and a silent auction
stocked with deals on unique getaways, outdoor gear, art and
jewelry. Proceeds for the evening benefit Earth Share of Georgia,
Georgia\'s only dedicated environmental fund. Purchase tickets
($50/person) online at http://www.myereach.com/"http://www.earthsharega.org/earthday2007/partyinthepark.html/" or

Earth Day 2007: Corporate Green Day Challenge
This year's Earth Share of Georgia's Corporate Green Day
Challenge, on Saturday, April 28, 2007, mirrors that first Earth Day
when the National Education Association estimated nearly 10 million
public school children with their teachers took their classroom to
the woods to study the effects of pollution on nature. Several
hundred volunteers from Cox Enterprises, Inc., The Home Depot,
Starbucks, SKANSKA USA and Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta, plan
to help to repair stream beds, restore urban nature paths, and
replenish the tree canopy throughout the metro area.
A party
to thank our volunteers will be hosted by CH2M Hill at their new
offices located at 400 Northpark, 1000 Abernathy Road on the Garden
level 3. For more information call 404.873.3173 or visit "http://www.earthsharega.org/earthday2007/greenday.html">

City of Atlanta Earth Day Celebration 2007-Arms Around
Atlanta Join in on the fun as a team or individual. Families,
neighborhood associations, neighborhood planning units, elected
officials, corporate teams, faith-based teams, students and
school groups and many others are invited to participate. Teams that
accomplish the most will be recognized for their good works by
the City of Atlanta.
The Arms Around Atlanta Earth Day
Celebration is a city-wide, community based City of Atlanta,
Keep Atlanta Beautiful, and BeltLine Partnership project to help
clean up and refresh selected right of ways around neighborhoods and
parks located on and close to Atlanta's BeltLine. With the help of
community volunteers, we will cleanup litter, roundup tires and
recycle old and unused computers, tv's, cell phones and other
e-waste this coming Earth Day. In addition, we hope to instill and
encourage a sense of ownership and pride in our neighborhoods,
our community parks, and the proposed investments of greenspace,
multi-use trails and transit that will comprise Atlanta's
BeltLine. Our goal is to remove 10,000 illegally dumped or used
tires, clean up 6,000 bags of litter and to collect more than 40,000
pounds of electronic waste. All tires and e-waste collected will be
recycled. Based on what is collected sponsors will donate funds and
equipment to furnish local parks with park benches, jogging
tracks and other park items all made from recyclable
materials. when & where 04.21.07: 8:00 am - Noon ~ Litter

CollectiveGood will have cell phone recycling information and
boxes at all of our Earth Day 2007 events.
CollectiveGood is
founded on principles of environmental responsibility. Through our
recycling programs, we protect the environment by keeping tons of
toxic waste from entering landfills every month. We recycle
practically all of the materials we receive, either for their
materials components, or into reuse. Though reuse is the highest
form of recycling, causing the least drain on resources for the
maximum benefit, recycling all of the materials possible is critical
to true environmental stewardship. CollectiveGood "closes the loop"
by recycling everything from the phones, their batteries, chargers,
accessories - even the boxes and donation forms.
Start a
cell phone recycling program at your work today by contacting us at
404.873.3173 or by visiting: http://www.myereach.com/"http://www.collectivegood.com/donate2.asp?CHid=4470\"
